Brantley Lake State Park
Carlsbad, New Mexico - January 23, 2019 - All in all it was a good stay. Lots of hiking, nearly 4 miles a day and the weather was good except for a couple of days with high winds. We also had good viewing for the total lunar eclipse. One sore spot however, due to the government shutdown we were unable to see the Carlsbad Caverns National Park. But we did visit Sitting Bull Falls in the Lincoln National Forest.
The southernmost lake in New Mexico is an oasis of water, wildlife, plant life, gorgeous sunsets and stunning night skies. Located twelve miles North of Carlsbad, NM, the park offers boating, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, hiking trails, exceptional bird watching, developed and primitive campsites and restrooms with showers. Whether you’re picnicking for the day, or camping in your RV for a week, you’ll be sure to find adventure at Brantley Lake State Park! Park Elevation 3,295 ft
