LURAY, Virginia - November 14, 2018 - If you like to stay at RV parks then a well run KOA, like this one, should be high on your list. Even though it is off season, (way off season, they close on November 18th) the campground is 'Fall pretty'. We thoroughly enjoyed the area, from hiking the state parks, Skyline Drive, Luray Caverns, the Walton's Museum, and all the friendly, hospitable folks at the campground and in town.
About Luray KOA
The Blue Ridge Mountains seem to roll on forever from the vantage point of this wonderfully rural yet convenient campground, nested atop a high hill above the Shenandoah Valley. Cruise along the famed Skyline Drive in Shenandoah National Park, just a few miles away, or explore the park's countless hiking trails. Nearby outfitters rent canoes and tubes for floating the Shenandoah River. This KOA is close to Luray Caverns and offers easy access to several Civil War sites, including New Market Battlefield State Historical Park and Harpers Ferry National Historical Park. The campground's spacious grounds include shady sites, a pool and a ball field. Pool: May 21 - September 16. Max pull thru: 85 feet. Your hosts: Erich and Shulamit Schumacher.
